গত মাসে প্রকাশিত জনশুমারিতে দেখা গেছে চীনে গত বছর জন্মেছে প্রায় এক কোটি ২০ লাখ শিশু — ২০১৬ সালের এক কোটি ৮০ লাখের তুলনায় এটি একটি উল্লেখযোগ্য হ্রাস এবং ১৯৬০ এর দশকের পর সবচেয়ে কম সংখ্যক জন্মের রেকর্ড এটি।

The census, released last month, showed that around 12 million babies were born last year — a significant decrease from the 18 million in 2016, and the lowest number of births recorded since the 1960s.

The census was conducted in late 2020 - some seven million census takers had gone door to door to collect information from households.
