❏ To tread (on/in/into sth) = to put your foot on something or to press something down with your foot; to step on something

As soon as he trod on the hidden bomb, it went off. (যেইমাত্র সে লুকানো বোমার ওপর পাড়া দিলে, সেটা বিস্ফোরিত হলো।)

You've just trodden on my clean floor with your dirty shoes. I'll get you back for this!

I kept treading on his toes when we were dancing.

❏ Credit = an arrangement with a shop, bank etc that allows you to buy something and pay for it later

I bought this shirt on credit. (আমি এই শার্ট বাকিতে কিনেছি।)

The store agreed to let him have credit. (দোকানটা তাকে বাকি দিতে রাজি হয়েছিল।)

What’s the credit limit on your Visa card? (তোমার ভিসা কার্ডের ক্রেডিট সীমা কত?/…… কত টাকা পর্যন্ত ধারে ক্রয় করা যাবে?)

I don't like buying on credit. (আমি বাকি নেওয়া/বাকিতে কেনা পছন্দ করি না।)

a good/bad credit risk = a person who is likely/unlikely to pay the money later

Sajib is a bad credit risk. Don't lend him money. (সজিব সহজে/ঠিকভাবে টাকা ফেরত দেয় না। তাকে টাকা ধার দিয়ো না।)

Sifat is a good credit risk. You can lend him money. (সিফাত ঠিকভাবে টাকা ফেরত দেয়। তুমি তাকে ধার দিতে পারো।)

If you have a bad credit history or if you are a person with a bad credit history, you're less likely to be lent money. 

I have a bad credit history. (আমি সহজে বাকি নিই না/ খাই না।)

❏ To run up a debt/bill (on sth) = to increase a debt by spending more; to allow a debt/bill accumulate:

He ran up huge bills on clothes. (সে অনেক টাকার কাপড়/পোশাক বাকি নিয়েছে।/ সে বিশাল অংকের কাপড়ের বিল বাকি/বকেয়া রেখেছে।)

He ran up a Tk 1200 bill at the restaurant. (সে রেস্টুরেন্টে ১২০০ টাকার বিল বাকি রেখেছে।)

She ran up an enormous phone bill. (সে বিশাল অংকের ফোন বিল বাকি রেখেছে।)

He ran up debts of $165,000. (তার ১৬৫,০০০ ডলারের ঋণ জমে গেছে।/ সে ১৬৫,০০০ ডলার বকেয়া রেখেছে।)

Shamim has run up a hotel bill of Tk 3500. (শামিম ৩৫০০ টাকার হোটেল বিল বাকি রেখেছে।)
